Create a Club

Creating a club is an excellent way to organize and communicate with your community, share important information, such as updates and upcoming events.

Follow this guide to set up your club and customize it to suit your needs!

 

Steps to Create a Club

  1. Navigate to Clubs

    Go to your profile and scroll to the Clubs section. Tap the + button to create a new club.

Customizing Your Club

1. Edit the Cover

We recommend using your own photos and videos, as it builds trust and visualises your real events and it’s atmosphere! It also helps to create a unique offer and share emotions. However, there is also an option to use the stock search feature to find the perfect cover image or GIF for your club.

Supported formats and limitations:

  • Video: Max 60 seconds, formats: video/mp4, video/quicktime.
  • Image: Formats: image/heic, image/jpeg, image/png, image/webp, image/gif.

2. Add a Tagline and Description

  • Tagline: A short description of your club’s purpose.
  • About Club: Add a detailed description, benefits and values.

Description limit: 4,000 characters.

3. Set a Location

  • Setting up your club's location helps new members discover your club on Locals and clearly indicates where your offline events will take place.
  • Setting a global location makes your club visible everywhere and is ideal for online events and broader communication.

Membership Options

By default, clubs are free to join. You can, however, create paid tiers for additional benefits or exclusive content.

  • before adding paid tiers make sure you connected your Stripe Account in your profile > Settings > Account > Stripe Account.

Setting Up Membership Tiers

Go to Membership > Create New Tier.

  1. Name your tier and choose between Free or Paid options.
  2. Describe the value and benefits for each tier.
  3. Optionally, add discounts for future paid events exclusive to specific tiers.
  4. You can add partners offering discounts to your members or promote partner brands for credibility. These partners will be visible in the tier description. Discounts can also be shared in club chats.
  5. Set up pricing plans with different pricing in different currencies to make them look better

Preview your payment tiers to ensure they appear as intended for members.

Pricing Plans and Currencies

  • Members can subscribe to one plan per club at a time.
  • Choose billing frequencies: Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, or Annual.
  • By default prices in your home currency. In Locals we support multiple currencies, so you can adjust end preview for different currencies.

Club Visibility

Choose between Public and Private visibility:

  • Public: Anyone on Locals can view and join your club. Friends on Locals will be notified about the new club.

  • Private: Only accessible via a direct link.

    ⚠️ Visibility settings must be determined when creating the club and cannot be changed later in app. Contact Support so that we can change it for you.
