To start accepting payments for your events and memberships on Locals, you’ll need to link your Stripe account. This guide walks you through the setup — it's not complicated, it will just take a couple of minutes!
🔐 Why Stripe?
Locals partners with Stripe to ensure fast, secure, and global payment processing. Whether you’re collecting one-time payments or recurring subscriptions, Stripe makes it easy to manage your earnings.
Step-by-Step: Set Up Stripe in the Locals App
1. Open Your Settings
From your Account page, tap the gear icon in the top right corner. This brings you to the Settings menu.
2. Tap on “Stripe account”
In the Account section, you’ll see “Stripe account.” Tap to begin setup. This is where your Stripe integration begins.
3. Start Your Stripe Verification
You’ll be redirected to Stripe’s secure form to verify your account. Enter your email and phone number to get started. If you’ve used Stripe before, you may be able to reconnect your account instantly.
4. Enter Your Business Info
Stripe requires basic business information:

Your country

Your business type (e.g., Sole Trader, Company, etc.)
This helps Stripe stay compliant with local regulations.
5. Add Your Personal Details
Enter your full name, date of birth, and home address
This information is required to verify your identity and comply with financial regulations.
6. Specify Your Business Type and Industry
Scroll through Stripe’s list of industries and pick the one that best represents your work — from coaching and consulting to personal services or digital content. This helps Stripe understand your business context.
7. Set Up Your Payout Account
Add your bank details, including currency and account number. This is where your earnings from paid events and membership tiers will be deposited.
8. Final Review & Submit
Stripe will ask you to review your details before submitting. Once everything is confirmed, Stripe will begin the verification process, which usually will take a couple of minutes.
Once setup is complete, Stripe will be linked to your Locals account. You’ll now be able to:

Accept payments for paid events

Collect membership subscription revenue

Receive payouts directly to your bank account
9. Where to View and Withdraw Your Earnings
Once your Stripe account is connected, Locals makes it easy to track and withdraw your earnings.
📍 To check your wallet:

Open the Locals app

Tap on your Account tab (bottom right icon)

Tap My Wallet
Inside your Wallet:

You’ll see your total money earned through Locals

The amount Ready for Payout and what's In Transit to your bank

A list of all payments from members (events or tiers)
Manual Withdrawals:

Payouts are automatically initiated monthly.

But you can now withdraw money manually every 24 hours.

Just tap the Withdraw button to initiate a Stripe transfer to your linked bank account.
🔄 Need to Change Accounts Later?
No problem. You can always return to Settings → Stripe account to view or update your Stripe connection.
Do This Before Launching Paid Offers
Make sure your Stripe setup is complete before you publish any paid events or tiers. This ensures a smooth payment flow and no missed revenue!
